We have two major celebrations in July. On the 11th was Anthony's (29th) birthday and on the 15th was our (31st) anniversary. Very thankful for both :)
We spent a few days in St. Paul to celebrate our anniversary... more photos to come in another post...
We went to Serum's Good Time Emporium to celebrate with Anthony. They have the best chicken wings, yum!!!
This is the reason for all the milkweed plants in my garden. I like to have some of them, but they have almost taken over my garden. Can't get rid of them no matter how much I try - they must have a long tap root!!!!! There are rewards - monarch caterpillars :)
I didn't see where she made her chrysalis, but this morning I saw a monarch butterfly flitting around my garden. That makes it worthwhile to have some milkweeds in my garden!!!!!
So exciting!!!! This morning as I was rambling through my forest of milkweeds I spotted a couple caterpillars :) Come to find out on a little more examination there were eight!!!! Probably more, but I didn't want to disturb them too much. I snapped a couple pics!
I see gardens as GOD's handy work and art. I just enjoy the fact that He allows me to be a part of His artistic projects. It truly amazes me to see a garden develop and grow. I guess that farm girl heart in me is fed by growing things.
The first pictures below show the contrast of my garden at the beginning of the season and now in the middle of the season. I love that the daisies and hollyhocks have mixed themselves into my veggie garden. Enjoy the flowers and veggies :)
