This painting was chosen by The Emergency Foodshelf Network in New Hope, Minnesota as one of their 'Artwork for Tummies' Christmas Cards. Purchases of any of those cards went to benefit Minnesota’s hungry children.
We got together with both my cousins and our church youth group for sledding parties every winter. This is a watercolor painting of two kids heading home after a day of tobogganing. For those of you who live in warm climates, a toboggan is a long sled where two or more people sit on the sled and tuck their legs around each other to slide down the hill together. We would cram as many as we could possibly fit on that toboggan, because, hey, the more you have on the toboggan, the faster it goes down the hill!!! We didn’t find out until years later that the cousin who always sat in front (so she could steer the sled) would close her eyes on the way down!!!! Pretty dangerous when you realize that there were trees on both sides of us. But, by the grace of God we all survived!
