Window shopping... dreaming... hoping...
I will always remember this one special year when I went Christmas shopping with my parents. There it was in the window: a purple teddy bear! As we traipsed throughout the store, I begged my parents for that teddy bear! But when we finally finished shopping and left the store, there sat 'my' teddy bear still in the window. I was about as sad as a kid could be. Much to my surprise, at Christmas I opened my gift, and there it was!!! (I had been too young to realize that the store had more than one purple teddy bear!)
This painting is of the old ‘five and dime’ store my family shopped at in Northfield, Minnesota, during my teddy-bear loving, growing-up years.
